After a complete makeover taking almost 2 years and costing most of a million dollars the lodge opened for business in 2006.The custom design and handcrafted northwestern style buildings overlooking the river with deep vistas of the Rogue River Gorge and surrounding mountains. The interiors are designed and hand finished with Port Orford cedar in the best tradition of northwestern craftsmanship. Through tall firs, pines, maples and oaks the sun pours into the east facing lodge and gardens. It is the best of settings, sun and shade with unmatched opportunity for viewing of river and wildlife. Due to the location on the estuary, the wildlife is more abundant, with the combined river and sea life.\

The Rogue is a big favorite with fishermen and in particular the lower Rogue and the Snag Patch, which is host to Chinook and Steelhead salmon.
