Black Bear Inn is the only B&B in Lake Tahoe that was built as a bed and breakfast; it is not a remodeled motel or home. The lodge was designed after the great lodges of the West and was constructed in 1998/1999. It opened for business in March of 1999, and has enjoyed robust business. The inn is situated on a 1.1 acre wooded parcel on in South Lake Tahoe and consists of a 6500 sq. ft. lodge and 3 cabins, which add another 2430 sq. ft. There are a total of 10 guest rooms (9 units) with an average ADR of $282. Every lodge room has a private bath, gas fireplace, king bed, flat screen TV with DVD player. The cabins have the same amenities, but also include a kitchenette and private patio. The location is ideal. The inn is on Ski Run Boulevard, a desirable neighborhood that is close to the lake and Heaven Valley Ski Resort, and is walking distance to restaurants and shops. You are in town, but not on the main drag.The inn has a thriving repeat business, a strong online presence, a commercial kitchen with full restaurant license, a wine license, and an in-ground spa constructed in July 2009.
