| DESCRIPTION |

| The Ironmaster's Inn was built in 1827 with the discovery of iron ore in nearby New York state & Chittenden in Greek Revival architecture. Looking very regal & grand, it is located in a country setting by the banks of the Furnace Brook about 30 yards away from the Inn nestling in the foothills of the Green Mountains .This river used to supply energy for the foundary to use in it's hay day for smelting purposes & it is also one of the best known trout rivers in Vermont with an equally illustrous past , no lesser than a President is known to have lost a "fly" on this streatch of waters as she empties into Lake Champlain.
As you walk up the stairs onto the balcony which stretches the width of the house, you cannot help by look up in awe at the 4 huge pillars that must be 50 feet high from ground to roof if not more. Many a balmy summer evening have I spent downing a pitcher of margarita whilst contemplating the meaning of life!!? As you enter the Inn through the double doors stepping from the balcony into the interior, on the left is the TV room & the right the library/living room before going thru the second set of double doors which is similar in style to the front doors onto the dining room, through the kitchen and finally my quarters. You will also find a a bathroom on this floor and the laundry room & sun room. You will also find stairs leading down into the cellar which houses the furnaces, water softener & oil tanks. My living quarters consists of a huge mezzanine with the space below measuring approximately 25 feet by 16 feet. It is plenty space for a couple BUT alternatively, it can be altered to let this space out as a studio flat for a family of 4 during the ski season . You also have your own private entrance. Close to: Ski slopes- Pico & Killington - 25mins away. The property is set in 3 acres of land with it's own sewage system approved by the Agency for Natural Resources Vermont with her own water supply via a well
Open to part exchange for a small apartment in NY or Boston. Buyer can take over as soon as he/she is ready to move in as I am prepared to lease it for 6 months maximum giving the buyer time to move. |
